About The Wallace Family
(Background song is... The Bible Stayed...Written by Matt Miller)
The Wallace Family was not always known as the Wallace Family. Up Until 1997, the group was called Southern Gospel Praise. After much thought and prayer, the group decided to go back to their original roots, which includes Granny Wallace, Harold and Naomi Wallace. Since that time in 1997, the name of the Southern Gospel group, The Wallace Family, has become more and more recognized in Texas and in Oklahoma. The group came to be as it is today, with group members being, Tony Murray and Glenda Wallace Murray, Matt Miller and Sandra Wallace Miller. and still traveling with the family ever chance she can is Naomi Wallace, Sandra and Glenda's mom. Sandra and Glenda's father, Harold Wallace, always loved to go hear the group sing when he could. Harold went home to be with Jesus on September 2nd 2005. No matter how we sounded when he was there with us, Harold always said, "Ya'll sounded better than ever."
Making up the group, or ministry as we like to call it, is Glenda singing lead and alto and doing a lot of our speaking while on the road, as Glenda does have a gift for gab. Sandra sings the high tenor and operates the electronic drum system. Tony plays the lead guitar. He plays the most awesome blues guitar to compliment our Southern Gospel style. Matt plays the keys and sings a little lead, tenor and alto. Matt also writes a lot of the songs for their ministry. Naomi still keeps the books and prays for the furtherance of the ministry as we work to spread the gospel of Jesus. The prayer of the Wallace Family, as a whole, is to see souls won to Christ, as we know, time is running out.
Please keep our ministry in your prayers daily as God continues to prepare the road before us. If you don't catch us on the road in your city, you might catch us at our home church, Freedom Church of God in Emory, Texas. If we don't see you down here, let's meet by the river.
